My weirdness in writing...

This weekend was really fun. I went to Yang Ming mountain with Donovan and his girl Silvia and his lower classmate (also fighter helicopter co-pilot). Some other friends came, but we didnt know really get to know them. We picked flowers there, and it was very beautiful and peaceful. The weather was great... did I mention that Donovans lower classmates name is Gun? =P haha... hes really nice, I think the first Shuai Ge I met here =) Opps... =P The drive up through the mountain was hectic because many people were there. We had lunch at a restaurant beside the flower field, with lots of strange dishes (grass they feed cows, worm fungus, bitter melon) I am just making it sound bad, but it tasted very good. I had to leave early because I had fellowship at 4pm, and so they drove me back to NCCU.

The next day Gun and Donovan (this time Gun drove his Opel) to pick me up after church. We had to meet Uncle and Auntie Paula and the rest of Donovans relatives for lunch. We picked up Silvia and headed over, but ended up being late because we drove to another restaurant with the same name =P. Gun drives just like Donovan, crazily... but still very skillfully =) Lunch was this place that only served gigantic fish. One fish to make many dishes to fill the table. The fish was very tasty. They made like 10 dishes from one fish! After lunch we dropped off Silvia and went to Uncle Lewis's home. We played some basketball, and I chatted with Gun a bit. He tought Uncle Victor was my DAD,,???, hahaha, they I explained to him where I was from and how my parents were in Canada...=P...Uncle Victor and Donovan had a bet, and said whoever wins a basketball game makes the other buy and treat cake for everybody. The bad thing was, Uncle Victor ended up ripping one of his tendons and we had to take him to the hospital. Gun knew what to do, and asked for ice and towel to wrap Uncles leg, when most of us just kept watching Uncle Victor. When the only ice was in a plastic bottle, he took out his gigantic Swiss army knife and cut the bottle to take the ice out, and crush it to smaller pieces. After he automatically went to get his car to drive Uncle to the hospital. But stupidly, we forget the ice, and had to drive back to get it... Donovan followed us by driving Uncle Victors car to the hospital so that when Auntie takes him home, the car is there. Gun races to the hospital, we end up on the wrong side of the road to pass the other cars a few times. But Uncle Victor was doing fine. We later confirm that he must stay and have surgery because he tore his tendon. Donovan feels bad, but we still joked around seeing Uncle Victor wasn't unhappy, and admiting that he was getting old. We buy them some drinks from the underground mall. Uncle Lewis and Uncle Adolf arrive to see Uncle Victor, and me Donovan and Gun chat for a while outside the emergency waiting area. I found out that Gun joined the army because he loves to fly, which is the same as Donovan. Made me think about how much Gun may sacrifice for his passion. And I was thinking, "do I even have a passion?" He knows it is very difficult to have a family and relationship when working in the army, but I don't think he can compromise what he loves. He just optimistically believes that his future GF must be very independent. Donovan is lucky to have his GF in the army with him (but actually they don't have much time to chill with each other within the army, they just see each other working), but I still think that is better than having a GF outside alone all the time. *sigh* It can be so difficult for a girl to only see their BF when they have holidays, but then again if you really love somebody...... UGHS, I think I'm getting into this sappy mood about Love, and relationships, and thinking too much again!!! so....lets continue with the next thought... =) Meanwhile I found out Donovan wanted to be a Doctor, or Teacher when he was young...keke can't imagine =) The funny thing about Donovan and Guns friendship is that, they act so GAY with each other (but they are not gay)...hahaha... just the way they talk to each other, reminds me of a couple... at various moments... (ie, when Donovan taps Gun on the head with his planner for saying something stupid, or when out of nowhere Gun tries to poke Donovans knees when he is sitting down... or when Donovan drops a pen down the side of his car seat and you see Gun helping him get it while driving and their heads almost hitting each other because both are trying to get the pen, Donovans hands are chubbier, and Donovan yelling at Gun to concentrate on driving...hehehe) I guess they have such a close relationship from being together in the army, almost 24/7. They get to fly helicopters together in the air, and live at the same base. It is so good to see their friendship... I MISS MY FRIENDS... will it ever be the same when I return to Canada? Actually when I return many of my friends are going on their exchange term *sigh*, wish I could stay in Taiwan for that period of time... Toronto seems so distant to me... *SIGH*... this is what Exchange does to you... depress you... =P ok... so Gun drives me home after we say bye to Uncle. We stop by a Chinese hotdog place "Mi Chang bao xiao chang" basically rice sausage wrapping a real sausage =P. It tasted interesting,,,, very interesting... there were pickled ginger bits, peppers, sour vegetables mixed in it, but Gun and Donovan really enjoyed it. I get back to NCCU after some stupid conversations with them about random things (ex taxes in Canada, and life in Canada). I get home and take a final picture of Guns Opel, which I have never seen in Canada before. It's nice to get to ride in a nice car once in a while, with a skilled driver =) *sigh*...keke
