My weirdness in writing...

Friday, March 25, 2005

havent bloged in a while, so i will have a compilation of the past 2 weeks in this post.

March 12, Me Donovan and his friend Michelle tried to go out for coffee at night, but ended up drinking 7-11 coffee in the car. But it was starbucks coffee, the cold kind. This was after my first fellowship at the local church. Fellowship was nice, even though we sang acapela, the songs were nice, and an activity we did was to each say soemthing we are thankful for after each verse of the song, going in a circle. The group is small, but very cozy. I later learned that one of the couples that just got married, but the husband is diagnozed with a tumour in his bladder. It was strange because I got a textmessage about the condition to pray for him. I showed Ankie my roomate for her to translate it for me, and she told me wha actually know who the person was because he is a classmate. It is very sad because he just got married a few weeks ago, I really Pray that he will be healed.

Went to Shilin night market with Donovan Ankie and Michelle the Sunday after church. Went to Chiang Kai SHek memorial park as well and took some funny pictures. THat night I joined Shelly and her graduate friends in a match of bowling. They had like 40 people competiting with each other, to see who wins a prize. I played with them and met many people. At the end, i joined some for more food at SHilin and tried soem stinky tofu and weird foods. When we went back to the parking lot of the bowling alley to pick up the cars, there was a locked shain over the exits. So we were trapped. Luckily it was possible to lift the chain with the giant sign on it, and let the cars go under. So we excaped the parking lot.

March 19, I went to Kaohsiung again. Donovan picked me up, but i wasnt feeling too well because the night before it was Olivia and Oscars birthday party at a night club. We got to Taichung to pick up auntie Paula and Uncle Victor. On the way to Kaohsiung, we stopped and played some mini basket ball, and Uncle Victor can actually score like over 200 nets in like 3 minutes. We then went to have lunch at a Lamb place. Auntie was scared of the smell, and uncle had never tried lamb before, but we convinced them to try. And it was great because the smell was very small. At Kaoh Siung, we go out for dinner, and i met uncle Adolf and his family with little baby Zi Hong. He is so cute. We had some weird seafood that is from PengHu. That night we just had more coffee and chatted. THe next morning we rested and then went driving around to sight see around the harbour. We then ate some crushed ice with fruits all over it. The place had grafitti everywhere, and so i added my name there too. THen uncle Adolf drove me back to school. It was a long drive, and I practiced my mandarin a bit on the car.

Monday, I got the stomach flu. I threw up and then got a fever. My roomate told me to go to the hospital, but that seemed so serious to me. Yet in the end I listened to her. I got 2 needles there and many drugs. THe next two days were full of resting. My eyes were going haywire on me, seeing dizily, it was so scary. I;m so glad that is all over.

March 24th, I called Jess, and she was very happy to hear from me. I was very happy to call her and wish her a happy birthday because it has been so long since I really talked to my friends in Canada.

I was supposed to call again the day after my morning class, but I was too late and missed chatting to them all in a group together celebrating. But its ok because I ended up calling Jess again and Grace and chatted a while to catch up with them. They will be going on exchange next year. I wonder if I will be able to see them before they leave for their exchange terms. It seems so long ago that Ive seen them. I really miss my friends, and sometimes wish they were to come with me here and share this experience with me. But then I realize everyone has to have their own experience. =)
